A love letter to Germany - Borrelia Miyamotoi
Thank-you Germany for existing, and giving me the test results the Canadian lab could not. Thank-you Germany, for making nice cars like the beautiful one we picked up yesterday. Thank-you Germany, for just being all around lovely, and I hope one day to be in you.
Borrelia Miyamotoi is a distant cousin of Lyme, undetectable using the current Canadian Elisa Lyme test, yet is prevalent in ticks in every province in Canada. This is what I have.
I've finished nursing, and Henry was tested yesterday for Rickettsia, the same bacteria I tested positive for in Canada. Fingers crossed it's negative.
Now we treat.
I couldn't be happier.
Well, I could be happier if this hadn't been hurled into my life, but given the heartache of the last few months and all the testing and the arrogant dismissive specialist and the aching arms, this is simply the best news.
